Uganda Makes International Headlines Again- Uganda Safari News

Uganda on the International Scene Yet Again

If you only thought that Uganda is only a country that’s good for its spectacular wildlife biodiversity, well you aren’t entirely wrong because Uganda is a fascinating Africa wildlife safari adventure given its diverse wildlife and epic landscapes. However, today Uganda is being recognized for another thing altogether. Word reaching our news desk is that Uganda is on the international scene once again but this time around not because of its wildlife or landscape but rather intriguing music that comes with a blend of African rhythm and beats that are fascinating to listen to. Today Uganda gets an international node because one of her very own pop culture artist, Eddy Kenzo, who has won numerous international accolades such BET Award for best international entertainer in 2015, Nickelodeon Kids Choice Award in 2018, several Africa Music Awards, Africa Entertainment Award in 2019 has had one of his hit songs titled “Mbilo Mbilo” featured in a Netflix movie called “Holiday in the Wild”.

What does this mean for Eddy Kenzo?

Eddy Kenzo can comfortably start smiling because soon he will be able to start cashing in on his ingenuity and creativity as he is going to be paid handsomely with Royalties by Netflix for his song being used a soundtrack on their Christmas movie. This means that when a person pays to watch this Netflix movie, Holiday In The Wild, Eddy Kenzo will be getting a portion of that money for a lifetime at least until Netflix opts to delete the soundtrack from their streaming services.

What is Holiday in the wild?

Netflix recently released a new Christmas movie, Holiday in the Wild. This is one of the first original Christmas movies the streaming service has scheduled for 2019. The movie, directed by Ernie Barbarash and starring Hollywood greats Kristin Davis and Rob Lowe, features Eddy Kenzo’s top hit “Mbilo Mbilo” during the main characters’ safari adventure.

Filmed in South Africa, including at an elephant orphanage in Zambia, this movie is based on a story of about a New Yorker (Kristin Davis) who goes to an African safari for Christmas, where she meets Rob Lowe, who is playing the role of a pilot in the region. Kristin Davis’s son is played by Rob Lowe’s real-life son, John Owen Lowe. Davis told Parade that the movie is a “love letter to everyone I know in conservation, especially to the people who work with elephants. It’s near and dear to my heart.”

The big elephants that they filmed were in Jabulani, near Kruger. She said “it’s a beautiful game reserve owned by this family…three generations of animal-loving and rescuing people.” One of the locations filmed was Lilayi Elephant Nursery, which you can learn more about later in this article. Game Rangers International cared for many of the elephants seen in the movie.

Davis told Parade that the movie wasn’t filmed with show animals, but they worked with rescued wild elephants. It was tough to find a good filming location, she said, because they needed to make sure the elephants were trained correctly. She said she loves where they ultimately filmed because Zambia’s elephant orphanage released them into the wild and is a lot like her orphanage in Kenya.

On the first day of filming, she said the crew had to stay inland cruisers and whisper, because that was all the elephants were used to (based on visiting tourists and what they did.) She said the herd in the film has its own identity and the biggest elephant is the leader of the herd: “which is unusual because usually, the male elephants go off.  But this herd is different. It’s been through a lot.”

4 days Uganda Wildlife Safari Kidepo Valley National Park TourThis movie mainly centres around the Africa wildlife savanna animals and since the Africa savanna plains extend to most of the countries south of the Sahara desert, you can get to have a fairytale Africa wildlife safari experience with an Africa safari to East Africa wildlife safaris destinations such as Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania and Rwanda. some of the great African national parks you can visit in Kenya for a Kenya safari tour experience that gives you a unique similar experience like that is depicted in this movie include Masai Mara National Reserve, Nairobi National Park, Lake Nakuru National Park, Tsavo East National Park, Aberdares National Park and Amboseli National Park A Kenya wildlife safari tour to these parks gives you an encounter with Africa’s stunning mammals which include the African bush elephants just as depicted in this movie, lions, leopards rhinos and cape buffaloes to make up the big five game. To further stamp east Africa’s prowess Kristin Davis said that if you would want an experience similar to what’s shown in the movie, they should go to the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust in Nairobi on the edge of the Nairobi National Park. In Tanzania,  a Tanzania wildlife safari to Lake Manyara National Park, Tarangire National Park, Ngorongoro Conservation Park and Serengeti National Park. However, a Tanzania safari to Serengeti National park or even Kenya safari to Masai Mara is rather outstanding Africa safari experience as it puts you in a prime position to encounter one of the greatest wildlife mysteries on the African savanna and this is none other than the great wildebeest migration which sees millions on wildebeests together with other wild animals such as zebras embark on a rather treacherous journey of over 1000 miles crossing from the southern ends of Serengeti all the into Kenya’s Masai Mara and back to Serengeti only to begin again after sometime. What will get you perplexed on about this migration is the wildebeest’s internal instinct that drives them to follow the same coarse path regardless of what they might come across along the way which includes the crossing heavily Nile crocodile-infested rivers such as the MARA and the Grumeti rivers.

In Uganda, a holiday in the wild experience is gotten with experience a Uganda safari to some of the Uganda wildlife safaris destinations such as Lake Mburo National Park Uganda, Queen Elizabeth National Park, Kidepo Valley National Park Murchison Falls National Park Uganda will give you an encounter with some of the finest African savanna mammals like you have never seen before. Many of these destinations have 4 or 5 out of the big five Africa game which include African bush elephants, cape buffaloes, lions, leopards and rhinos. On top of these expect to encounter numerous other mammals such as Roth child giraffes, Burchell zebras, elands, Jackson hartebeests, topis, and wide variety antelopes.

However, Uganda isn’t only a destination that’s known for terrific Uganda wildlife safari experiences but also spectacular Uganda gorilla safaris. This is all possible because Uganda is home to the magical gorillas. Many Africa safaris who intend to enjoy Uganda gorilla trekking safaris, visit Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, and Mgahinga Gorilla National Park where these gorillas are found. These gentle giants in Uganda almost constitute half of the world’s gorilla population which is currently standing at around 1000 individuals.

However, Gorilla trekking isn’t only done in Uganda but also in Congo and Rwanda. A Rwanda gorilla safari takes you to Volcanoes National Park which is home to 10 gorilla families that have been habituated to give you a fantastic Rwanda gorilla tour experience. A Congo gorilla safari experience, on the other hand, takes you either Virunga National Park where you have a chance to encounter Mountain gorillas as this park is home to 8 gorilla families or Kahuzi Biega National Park where you will be in for a thrilling moment with the eastern lowland gorillas

As of today Uganda gorilla tours are trending with numerous Africa safari tour lovers mainly enjoying 3 days Uganda gorilla trekking safari to Bwindi, 4 Days Gorilla Trekking Uganda Wildlife Safari Tour in Queen Elizabeth Park and 5 days Uganda gorilla tours and the reason why gorilla safaris Uganda are trending is based on the fact that Uganda has a combined total of 19 gorilla families which can be visited every day and also gorilla trekking Uganda safari permits are relatively cheaper compared to Rwanda another big gorilla safari destination. Even with the newly announced increase in the price of Uganda’s permits to 700$ starting July 2020, gorilla safaris Uganda permits will still be a whole 800$ cheaper than those of Rwanda and as of today these permits a 900$ cheaper.
