For the best experience taking a round trip is rewarding, you drive to Kidepo from the Eastern direction and return from the North or vice versa.

Day 1: Chartered flights to Kidepo Valley National Park are organized by AERO LINK Uganda from Entebbe International airport. AERO LINK operates on Wednesday Friday and Sunday. You either fly into Kidepo valley national park on Wednesday and return on Friday or fly in on Friday and return to Entebbe on Sunday.  Scheduled flights depart at 12:30 pm from Entebbe and arrive at 14:45 pm. Your driver-guide will be waiting for you at Kidepo airport.

Day 2: The day starts with an early morning game drive. The morning game drive starts at 7:00 am and the more time you spend in the almost endless wilderness, the more amazing experiences. The black Rhinoceros and Northern White Rhinoceros were once indigenous to Uganda but got extinct by 1982. The sanctuary started with 6 rhinos but of recent, the number to 27 rhinos. The place that breeds rhinos for re-introduction in the wild -Ziwa rhino sanctuary is situated in Nakasongola district near Nakitoma village in the Kafu river basin of Uganda south of Murchison Falls National Park 176km (100 miles) north of Kampala. The sanctuary sits on 70sqkm(7000ha) with tight security, surrounded by 2m(6.6ft) electric fence to keep the rhinos in for sighting by tourists on Uganda wildlife safaris and keep the poachers away from the sanctuary.

Rhino trekking starts when you enter the territory of the southern white rhinos on foot along with well-trained rangers. Next, the female was placed in a cage with a sealed box of seed and was allowed to watch the trained male cleverly open his sealed box of seed. She also watched the untrained male — whom she preferred at first glance — being unable to open his container.

After that, eight of the nine females changed their minds, apparently, and began spending more time in the cage interacting with the more capable box-opening male than they had before the experiment. However, it’s not entirely clear that the females appreciated the box-opening as a sign of intelligence, they added.

In the birdlife, showing one’s intelligence could help one gain more mates and better spread one’s DNA on to future generations unlike just relying on colour and songs. The study doesn’t exclusively suggest that all females are attracted by intelligence because, at times in the animal world, complex behaviours like mating rituals can be at play.

The fact that female birds lacked the opportunity to perform the foraging task themselves suggests that they may have had little basis for understanding the exercise as a problem in need of a clever solution. Or maybe they might have attributed male success in opening the containers to superior physical strength.
