Uganda Wildlife Safaris Tours

kidepo-npLong before the Uganda gorilla safaris were developed, the Uganda Wildlife Safaris were already in place. The first European Explorers were astonished by the myriad of the wild game that characterized the Uganda’s landscapes long before the process of gazetting National Parks came into practice.

Even when this wild game suffered heavy losses following the instability that stimulated massive poaching in the 1970s and 80s, the rigorous conservation efforts have enabled it to recover and fill the protected areas and more efforts are still ongoing including the animal translocation such as the case of Rothschild giraffes from Murchison to Lake Mburo and from the northern sector or Murchison to the Southern sector of the park.
Uganda is a home to the African big five including the African Elephant both forest and savannah, the African Buffalo, the Lion, the Leopard and the Rhino. The white Rhino Species had faced total extinction by the year 1983 but are now thriving in the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary in the Central Uganda following their re-introduction in 2005 by the Rhino Fund Uganda in conjunction with the Government.
